Join our our two-day emergency first aid courses to learn how to handle emergencies and casualties when leading or participating in outdoor expeditions.
The course runs from 9am-5pm each day, providing participants with as much practical knowledge and experience as possible through a combination of indoor and outdoor practical sessions.
The course covers emergency procedures; unconsciousness and recovery position; CPR; bleeding; fractures; burns; hypothermia and heatstroke; medical issues; and outdoor activity risks, such as tick bites.
You'll have the chance to undertake a Basic Life Support (BLS) skills assessment, and you will be required to pass this to receive a certificate. Other practical skills will be assessed on a continuous basis.
The course is suitable for outdoor workers, instructors and enthusiasts, a certificate, valid for 3 years and recognised by MLTB, BASI, BCU and other NGBs will be gained.
The course costs £160, which includes two nights accommodation, food,
